Two new Sea Eagle pairs breeding in the Netherlands

Haliaeetus albicilla

The Sea Eagle has returned to the Netherlands. The first pair breeding for the first time received a lot of attention, two new pairs breeding do not get the same amount of press. It demonstrates the viability of the species in this densely populated country and is therefore a big thing.

This biggest of aerial predators is sociable, they can breed close together. I had hoped that a second pair would have chosen the Oostvaardersplassen as well, there is food enough. Maybe next year.
Thanks,
